Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell suffered a "minor" injury in a shooting just after midnight Sunday, the team confirmed. "We have been made aware that Tank Dell was a victim of a shooting in Sanford, Fla., last night," the Texans said in a statement Sunday afternoon. "He sustained a minor wound but has been released from the hospital and he is in good spirits. We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate but we ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the incident." Dell was one of 10 people wounded in a shooting outside of a nightclub, according to media reports from Florida. The Seminole County Sheriff's Office said none of the victims' injuries are life-threatening. A 16-year-old was arrested and charged with attempted homicide and other charges. The venue said in a Facebook post that it was rented out for a private event Saturday night and the owners are still gathering information. Dell, 24, is a native of nearby Daytona Beach. He had a strong rookie season in 2023, with 47 receptions for 709 yards and seven touchdowns over his first 11 games (eight starts), but he suffered a broken leg early in a Week 12 game against Denver and missed the rest of the season. --Field Level Media

What would you do if you were given an extra day? How would you celebrate those extra moments? Would you start the day with a cup of coffee or a meditative walk watching the sunrise and ending with a great meal and a table full of loved ones at sunset? Would you make time to have lunch with …

The White House says U.S. President Joe Biden has again spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Pressure is building on Israel and Hamas to reach a deal that would free some Israeli hostages and bring a cease-fire in the war in Gaza. The White House says Biden reiterated his “clear position” as Israel plans to invade Gaza’s southernmost city of Rafah despite global concern for more than 1 million Palestinians sheltering there. The U.S. opposes the invasion on humanitarian grounds. Israel is among the countries U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit as he returns to the Middle East on Monday.

Pope Francis has met with women prisoners in Venice who are the protagonists of the Vatican pavilion at the Venice Biennale art fair. He has urged them to use their time in prison as a chance for “moral and material rebirth.” Francis is in Venice for the morning to meet with the inmates and artists of this year's Biennale. The Vatican chose to stage its pavilion inside Venice’s women’s prison, and through a deal with the Italian Justice Ministry, invited inmates to work alongside the artists.

Cambodia has held a funeral for 20 soldiers who died at an army base in a huge explosion of stored munitions that also wounded several others and damaged nearby houses. There has been no public explanation of what caused the Saturday afternoon blast at the base in Kompong Speu province, though there were no suggestions it was caused deliberately. Defense Minister Tea Seiha, representing Prime Minister Hun Manet, presided over the Buddhist funeral ceremony on Sunday, which was attended by relatives of the victims and fellow soldiers. Cambodian flags covered the wooden coffins.

From ancient fertilizer methods in Zimbabwe to new greenhouse technology in Somalia, farmers across the heavily agriculture-reliant African continent are looking both to the past and future to respond to climate change. Africa has the world’s youngest population. It is seeing the worst effects of a warming planet while contributing the least to the problem. Farmers are scrambling to make sure the booming population is fed. Some are turning to traditional foods that had been long dismissed as weeds or neglected in favor of imports. Others embrace new planting methods and varieties. One new bean's side benefit is less flatulence.
