New York Jets coach Robert Saleh has liked what he's seen from veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers during organized team activities. "For him to push the envelope and continue his rehab (from an Achilles injury), he has no restrictions and he looks good, man," Saleh said on Tuesday. "The arm talent, obviously, is still there. But it's really just re-acclimating to everything. We're trying a bunch of new stuff, too. Just trying to evolve within the offense." When asked if Rodgers is taking snaps under center and executing footwork on handoffs, Saleh was quick with a response. "He's doing everything," he said. Rodgers, 40, followed a celebrated tenure with the Green Bay Packers by playing just four snaps before sustaining an Achilles injury during his debut with the Jets on Sept. 11, 2023. On Tuesday, Saleh said Rodgers is checking the boxes as he continues to recover from the injury. "As far as we're concerned, he's on track and what he's able to do, there's no limitations to what we're asking him to do at practice," he said. A four-time NFL MVP, Rodgers passed for 59,055 yards, 475 touchdowns and 105 interceptions in 230 games (223 starts) for the Packers from 2005-22, compiling a record of 147-75-1. He made 10 Pro Bowls and led Green Bay to a Super Bowl XLV victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Jets' quarterback room also includes veteran Tyrod Taylor and rookie Jordan Travis, drafted in the fifth round last month out of Florida State. --Field Level Media

Former Florida recruit Jaden Rashada is suing Gators football coach Billy Napier and a prominent booster over a $13.85 million name, image and likeness deal that went awry. A lawsuit filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida alleges that they made "false and fraudulent promises" to induce Rashada to sign with the program in 2022. Rashada initially committed to the University of Miami, where he reportedly had a $9.5 million NIL deal on the table. He flipped to Florida after agreeing to a $13.85 million deal with the now-defunct Gator Collective. The lawsuit claims that Napier promised a $1 million "partial payment" to Rashada's father when the quarterback prospect signed his national letter of intent, but that the payment never was received. "As the first scholar-athlete to take a stand against such egregious behavior by adults who should know better, Jaden seeks to hold Defendants accountable for their actions and to expose the unchecked abuse of power that they shamelessly wielded," states the lawsuit, according to a copy obtained by USA Today. Florida booster Hugh Hathcock and a former Florida staffer, Marcus Castro-Walker, are named in the lawsuit along with Napier. "Once Jaden committed to UF, rather than make Jaden 'rich' as promised, these people -- with Hathcock leading the charge -- changed their tune and went back on their word. The amount of UF-affiliated NIL money available for Jaden decreased drastically," the lawsuit states. Florida athletic department spokesman Steve McClain issued a statement on Tuesday. "We do not comment on ongoing litigation, and neither the University Athletic Association nor the University are named in the complaint. The UAA will provide for Coach Napier's personal counsel, and we will direct all questions to those representatives," read the statement. Rashada ended up withdrawing his letter of intent with Florida and enrolled at Arizona State. He appeared in three games for the Sun Devils as a freshman in 2023, passing for 485 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. He transferred from Arizona State to Georgia for the upcoming 2024 season and has four years of eligibility remaining. --Field Level Media

The defense has rested its case in Donald Trump's hush money trial without the former president testifying in his own defense. The conclusion of witness testimony on Tuesday brings the trial one step closer to closing arguments, which will take place next week. Jurors have been sent home and will not return until next Tuesday. The trial is in its 20th day. Prosecutors have accused Trump of a scheme to bury negative stories that might have torpedoed his 2016 presidential campaign and falsifying internal business records to cover it. He has denied the allegations. He has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Police broke up a pro-Palestinian encampment at the University of Michigan before dawn Tuesday, citing a threat to public safety and coming less than a week after demonstrators stepped up pressure by placing fake body bags on the lawn of a school official.

OpenAI says it plans to halt the use of one of its ChatGPT voices that “Her” actor Scarlett Johansson says sounds “eerily similar" to her own. OpenAI said Monday that it is “working to pause” Sky — the name of one of five voices that ChatGPT users can chose to speak with. The company added it had “heard questions” about how it selects the lifelike audio options available for its flagship artificial intelligence chatbot. Among those raising questions was Johansson, who famously voiced a fictional, and at the time futuristic, AI assistant in the 2013 film “Her.” OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said that the voice actor behind Sky was cast “before any outreach to Ms. Johansson," but apologized for not communicating better.

President Joe Biden, intent on selling his legislative accomplishments this election year, has gone to New Hampshire to detail the impact of a law that helps veterans get key benefits as a result of burn pit or other toxic exposure during their service. His administration said Tuesday more than 1 million claims have been granted to veterans since Biden signed the so-called PACT Act into law in August 2022. That amounts to about 888,000 veterans and survivors in all 50 states who have been able to receive disability benefits under the law. That totals about $5.7 billion in benefits given to veterans and their survivors.

The United Nations says it has suspended food distribution in the southern Gaza city of Rafah due to lack of supplies and insecurity. It also said no aid trucks entered via a pier set up by the U.S. for sea deliveries for the past two days. The U.N. has not specified how many people remain in Rafah after the Israeli military launched an intensified assault there on May 6, but they appear to number several hundred thousand. Abeer Etefa, a spokesperson for the U.N’s World Food Program, warned that “humanitarian operations in Gaza are near collapse.” She said that if food and other supplies don’t resume entering Gaza in “in massive quantities, famine-like conditions will spread.”

Leading artificial intelligence companies made a fresh pledge at a mini-summit Tuesday to develop AI safely, while world leaders agreed to build a network of publicly backed safety institutes to advance research and testing of the technology. Google, Meta and OpenAI were among the companies that made voluntary safety commitments at the AI Seoul Summit, including pulling the plug on their cutting-edge systems if they can’t rein in the most extreme risks. The two-day meeting is a follow-up to November’s AI Safety Summit at Bletchley Park in the United Kingdom, and comes amid a flurry of efforts by governments and global bodies to design guardrails for the technology amid fears about the risk it poses both to everyday life and to humanity.
