Three-time Pro-Bowl safety Jamal Adams is visiting the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, ESPN reported. Adams, 28, was released by the Seattle Seahawks on March 5 in a cost-cutting move. He was due a base salary of $16.5 million in 2024 and carried a cap hit of $26.9 million, per Spotrac. The Ravens feature Kyle Hamilton and Marcus Williams as starting safeties with little depth behind them. Adams made nine starts in 2023 and recorded 48 tackles. The 2017 first-round pick (sixth overall) has posted 494 tackles, 21.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles and four interceptions in 80 games (all starts) with the New York Jets (2017-19) and Seahawks (2020-23). After recording 9.5 sacks in his first season with Seattle in 2020, Adams sustained a season-ending injury in Week 12 of the 2021 season and played in only 10 total games the past two years. --Field Level Media

The defense has rested its case in Donald Trump's hush money trial without the former president testifying in his own defense. The conclusion of witness testimony on Tuesday brings the trial one step closer to closing arguments, which will take place next week. Jurors have been sent home and will not return until next Tuesday. The trial is in its 20th day. Prosecutors have accused Trump of a scheme to bury negative stories that might have torpedoed his 2016 presidential campaign and falsifying internal business records to cover it. He has denied the allegations. He has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts.
Donald Trump’s lawyers have rested their defense without the ex-president taking the witness stand in his New York hush money trial. The jury was sent home Tuesday until May 28, when closing arguments are expected. Trump did not stop to speak as he left the courthouse and ignored a question about why he wasn’t testifying. The first former American president to be tried criminally had previously said he wanted to take the witness stand to defend himself. U.S. stocks are drifting around their record levels as Wall Street appears to be headed for another quiet day. The S&P 500 rose 0.1% Tuesday and was on track to surpass its record set last week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 59 points, and the Nasdaq composite was virtually flat a day after setting an all-time high. Treasury yields fell in the bond market as hopes remain high that an easing of inflation will convince the Federal Reserve to cut its main interest rate later this year. Prosecutors have warned people over celebrating his death and a heavy security force presence has been seen on the streets of Tehran since the crash.
